Our Curriculum, Learning and Student Progression
Our Curriculum
Phoenix Martial Arts follows a structured and progressive martial arts curriculum designed to support students from their first class through to advanced levels.
Lesson Planning
Our instructors work from weekly and monthly teaching plans to provide structured and consistent instruction while adapting lessons to the needs and development of individual students.
Learning & Development
Our curriculum develops martial arts technique alongside confidence, discipline, focus, self-control, problem-solving, self-defence and personal development.
Assessment & Progression
Students progress through defined stages of development, with instructors assessing technical skills, knowledge, application and the requirements appropriate to each stage of the curriculum.
Belt Progression
Belt progression is based on defined curriculum requirements and demonstrated development. Attendance alone does not determine progression.
Development Feedback
Student development is monitored throughout the year, with regular feedback provided to help students and parents understand progress, strengths and areas for further development.
Quarterly Reports
Students receive quarterly development reports providing structured feedback on their progress and development.
Leadership
As students progress through the curriculum, advanced students may have opportunities to develop leadership, mentoring and instructional skills through our leadership pathway.
